Chauntea (pronounced: chawn-TEE-ah) was the Faerunian goddess of life and bounty, who viewed herself as the embodiment of all things agrarian. The Earthmother was seen as the tamer parallel of Silvanus, the Forest Father of druidry and wilderness, as she was the deity of agriculture and plant cultivation.

__TOC__

Description
Chauntea, when in her home realms, manifested with the appearance of a giant beautiful human woman. The Earthmother had long shiny white hair, gathered in a long braid she wrapped around her head. The length of her braid suggested the woman's great age. She had pleasant features and brown skin. Chauntea's body was lean but toned, muscled similarly to a farmer's body, shaped by hard work. She carried herself with strength and femininity. If one was to forget that they observed a deity, they could assume the beautiful woman in front of them was in her middle-age. Some described her appearance as "a rose in full bloom."

Chauntea was dressed in an unbleached linen tunic and carried a green seed pouch, slung over one shoulder. Even though she was working her divine realm's fields barefoot, with face stained with dirt, her beauty was accentuated by wildflowers and ivy weaved into the goddess' long hair. She also wore a girdle embroidered with images of various fruits.

Personality
Chauntea was a wise and quiet goddess given to neither pomp nor paegentry. Over the millenia she had learned the virtue of patience, being both slow to anger and not prone to hasty action, although she sometimes took this to the point of being ponderous.

This was not to be mistaken for passivity however, for the Earthmother was a vibrant and caring goddess who loved the inhabitants of Toril and enjoyed nothing more than showing them how her world might enrich their lives. The most recent centuries had seen Chauntea become completely enamored with them, especially humans, to the point she focused all her attention on helping them live off the land.

This relationship was not one-way however, for Chauntea also preached reverence towards nature. She urged the people of civilized lands to repair that which they damage, calling her followers to perform small acts of devotion. Furthermore, while she would prefer diplomacy to open conflict, to bring blight to the natural world would surely evoke the fury of the Earthmother.

Divine Realm
In the Great Wheel cosmology, Chauntea maintained her divine realm named Great Mother's Garden on Elysium's second layer of Eronia. She shared it with the otherworldly god of crops Liu from the Chinese pantheon and the Mystaran Immortal of growth, Djaea.

Chauntea's realm was a representation of her dominion over the Realms. During the annual planting season, the goddess worked her realm's sprawling fields, planting handfuls of seeds in furrows and closing them with her bare feet. The goddess took her duties with intense diligence, knowing that if she was late to plant or the fields were damaged, it caused the fertility of the Realms to suffer. A churned plot of earth in one spot of the field could cause croup failure in Halruaa, in another spot - scorched earth could create famine in Amn. Her realm's fields were teeming with life: insects bussed about, earthworms filled the soil, robins flittered about.

Relationships
She had strong ties with other deities concerned with nature, such as Shiallia and Mielikki, and she shared a close relationship with Silvanus, but that diminished over time. She was also known to have romantic affiliations with Lathander.

Her most despised enemy was Talona, the Lady of Pestilence, whose disposition to wreak suffering, disease and decay upon the natural world led her to oppose her with utmost vehemence. She was always in conflict with Talos. Chauntea battled deities who sought to desecrate and expunge nature; she opposed evil deities such as Malar and Bane, and viewed the latter's resurgence as portentous.

Worshipers
Chauntea was seen by Faerûnians as a critical aspect of the assumed cycle of life. Private land owners and destitute farmers (perhaps as a consequence of an unproductive harvest) visited the clerics of Chauntea for any divine suggestions for aiding the harvest. If at any time plague or drought struck the crops, farmers looked to Chauntea, since they hoped she would save the harvest, due to her love of nature. Though she had a diverse collection of followers, Chauntea was fanatically worshiped by peasants, servants, druids, gardeners, and any others who earned pay from working on farmland. Her clergy were known for ministering in rural communities, and for their willingness to work in the community's fields next to the local farmers.

Chauntea was one of the main deities worshiped in Rashemen, where she was known as Bhalla. In the Uthgardt tribes, Chauntea was exclusively worshiped by women, and served by female shamans. They believed the "Grandmother" gave birth to numerous daughters from Uthgar after his ascension, which became the wives of their beast gods.

Chauntea was also worshiped in worlds other than Toril, although under a different name.

Aspects
Before her days as the Great Mother, she was known as Jannath, the Earthmother and in her early days, she frequented places of overgrown nature, wilderness, and packs of animals. In the Moonshae Isles, Chauntea was still worshiped as Jannath.

In Rashemen, she was worshiped as a member of the triumvirate of goddesses praised there known as The Three with Mielikki (Khelliara) and Mystra (The Hidden One). Here, she was known as "Bhalla".

She was worshiped as Pahluruk in and around the Great Glacier.

In Wa, she was worshiped as "Chantea" but only by an underground sect who were viewed with distrust or outright hostility. Followers of Chantea were immediately put to death upon discovery. The Juzimura rebellion was noted as the official eradication of her religion in Wa, but there were suspected cells of underground worshipers in isolated areas.

History
Chauntea was believed to be one of the eldest gods in Faerûn—she was born when Toril was created by the primeval battles between Shar and Selûne. Selûne favored her and nurtured her with her light, with the help of Mystryl.
|Karahmu, a large hulking "beast", finds himself far away from his home in Ravnica.
|Karahmu is large. He stands nearly 8 feet tall and weighs in at nearly 400 pounds. Even for a loxodon, he's on the higher end of the size spectrum. His skin is light grey, nearing white. His eyes glow an emerald green. He wears very basic clothing, accented by a blue cloak. He carries a quarterstaff in his right hand and a fairly basic shield in his left. The inward facing side of the shield is adorned with one tusk, one loxodon ear, and one small portion of loxodon trunk.
|Karahmu was born in the city-plane of Ravnica. Since birth, he was drawn to nature, specifically the sky and stars. Upon coming of age, he joined the Selesnya Conclave. They were based in the North Ridge Forest, so it was definitely the closest to nature that he could get. They still often did business within the busier parts of the city, though. Sometimes, the guild would call upon him to carry out missions. For years, he did as they wished, regardless of the mission. He was called to quietly assassinate civilians who questioned the guild, among other jobs. On one of these jobs, Karahmu was called upon to quietly influence a vocal opponent of the Conclave to become... less vocal. Unfortunately, the target refused and had to be neutralized. Members of the target's guild found his assassin and pledged to make him regret it. Slowly, Karahmu's loved ones went missing. He would receive a tusk, an ear, part of a trunk, or other assorted bits in packages left at his door. He tried to find the members of the opposing guild that were torturing him and his loved ones, but was never able to do so.<br />

Karahmu withdrew. He withdrew from society, from his guild, from himself. He focused his energies on nature. He spent more and more of his time in the North Ridge Forest. He spent time in the area of the world tree, Vitu-Ghazi. He watched the stars. He started loving star-gazing. He began to dream of leaving Ravnica. He'd lost his immediate family in retribution. His family members didn't deserve what happened to them, but Karahmu deserved the pain inflicted upon him. He'd inflicted that pain on others for years. He'd lost his parents (father Baradov and mother Doova), as well as his younger sister, Taro.<br />

Amongst his parents' things, he found a map of the constellations that belonged to his father. After diving into druidic studies, he learned to harness the power of the stars, channeling that power through his father's star chart. He became convinced that his family was with him, in spirit, wherever he went, and that they'd simply become one with nature. Years later, he still regrets that his actions cost his family members their lives. He won't allow that to happen to anyone he cares about ever again.
|<u>Session 0</u>
:Lore: Karahmu wakes up in the North Ridge with a strange envelope to his side. It directs him to the Scholar's Study. Upon reaching the Study, he found a strange door with the same seal as the letter. Upon opening the door, he found only a desk with a lit candle and a blue envelope with his name on it. He touched the envelope and was instantly teleported to a new world, Edalon. He finds 6 people with him. Five others that appear to be fairly well geared and one who is documenting the others. The one documenting, Wrynn, took our names and races, then left. That night, Melvin (the rabbit person), heard a wailing noise in the distance and found a ghost in a nearby destroyed house. It screamed and aged Melvin and Rhys (our human artificer) by 20 years. The rest of the party is awoken and the ghost is killed. Rhys finds and kills a scared hand in the loft of the destroyed house. Everyone beds down for the rest of the night.
:Mechanics: The party is level 3. XP gain of 210, making our new total 1,110.
<u>Death</u>
:Death: Karahmu and his companions were traveling by sea when they were set upon by 5 dragons. Melvin gained flight from Rholand and attempted to intimidate them away, but they merely laughed at him. The breath of the dragon laughing caused Melvin to be pushed back. Melvin took this as an attack and attacked in turn. The resulting combat ended with the complete and utter destruction of all party members, all ship crew, and the ships themselves. The bodies of the party members were never recovered.
:<u>Writings of Wrynn the Patient from the House of Etlati</u>
:With eager anticipation I waited for my time at the ruins of my family home. For over a thousand years my family has taken charge over the cursed land and the portal that resides there. I had just settled down to my night of split ligine (a type of bean) and roast peppers knowing the next day would be very busy, when the portal burst to life a day early. Falling through the glowing purple altar of history, came this rag tag group of strange beings I had never before set eyes on. All of them blessed by the gods, carrying their blessing. My list shows as such:
:: <s>Za</s> Xarr the <s>Dragonthing</s> Dragonborn - She (I think it's a she) seemed nice and has dragon stuff going on.
:: Melvin the <s>Harren.. Harring</s> Bunnypeople - He appears to be shifty and nervous.
:: Brok the Dwarf - Rude <s>Human</s> Dwarf/short human
:: <s>Alera</s> Allura the human - Appears too old to be travelling, unsure why the gods chose her.
:: Karahmu the Loxadon - Looks like an elephant only human-ish.
:: Rhys Silverhaul the human - Snooty. Possibly Vancier.
:I can only hope the gods knew what they were doing when they summoned this strange beings to our lands. May the first travelers watch over them and may the gods bless their journey.
:<u>South to Port</u>
:The team traveled south to Hrisin's port, following the coast line. The ground was unusually firm and solid, though it appeared to just be fine sand. The familiar sponge like texture did not seem to come as their feet settled onto the rocky shores. The first night was uneventful, leaving Brok and Xarr the chance to familiarize themselves with their surroundings. This gave time to strike up conversations that lead into the great debate of <u>what is joy?</u> Meals cooked simply of leftover Tuber Beans surprised the new comers of their delicious possibilities, as they lifted the lid to the beans and discovered ground venison, cooked to perfection.<br><br>
:As they continued South for several days, they came upon a family of Sahuagin that were tasked to find barnacle laden shells for Abselin. In exchange for the assistance of the party members, they agreed to ferry them the rest of the way to port. And so, the party agreed to assist in hauling in the nets full of fish and shells in exchange for the few days boat ride to port. The Northern Currant moved them swiftly south to Hrisin's port, make quick work of what would have been a 4 day walk. Within a days time, they had arrived to the shores of the small village outside the port. <br><br>
:Upon arriving the view of large vessels, their sails stowed, could be seen waiting in port. The sound of revelry and comradery in the local taverns was accompanied with music from local minstrels. The village, while small, seemed merry and joyful as the team stepped off the small boat and walked up the main street.

Other rumors say he came from another plane or realm, creating Edalon as a safe haven for his children.
Godhood
Before the rise of his children into their status, he looked after Edalon with a gentle hand. Peace was known by all who inhabited and chaos did rage on land or sea. It was with the rise of his first born, Henat that Edalon began to know chaos. His grace was given to La'Kata, his only daughter. That she might save the world and keep it in the image of his heart. Riguna (pronounced rih-goo-NAH), the Princess of Victory in times of war. Born a simple girl to a farmer, she caught the eye of Kenutat. The only deity of Edalon to not be of blood relation, she is revered in many of the major cities. She was the first to proclaim victory during The First Shifting and brought peace during the Civil War of The Twins. While viewed as a goddess of war, she is truly a goddess of the victor! She is known to offer peace before blood shed, with tact and diplomacy she's talked the hottest of heads down from battle.
Mortal
She was a young woman when The First Shift war came to peak. The hero's would come to her town to rest, and she was quick to offer food and drink. A woman of honor, her body kept sacred. It was the eye of Vancira that caught her first. His ice blue eyes telling tales of journeys she could only dream about. It was his soft touch that directed her in the art of swordsmanship and guided her eyes to the target.
She quickly grew in skill and soon was fighting alongside the siblings in their war. She dreamed of great things, but soon her calm head talked the warriors down from their place. Her talks of peace and mercy caught the eye of Kenutat, who soon after the war ended blessed her for her heroism.

Godhood
Some would say it is her love for Vancira that brought the grace of his father upon her. Some would say it was the way she spoke Marig down from destroying Ubros all together that brought the mercy of their father. Either way, she was the one that brought an end to the Civil War of The Twins. Two sides that had spent nearly a century at war, were soon regarding the other side as friend once more.
Riguna's disappearance came on the coat tails of peace. She was not heard from after the two that proclaimed they loved her ended their war. Many believe, Riguna left to not tempt them to fight over her any longer. Others say, she never left and wanders the land of Edalon with La'Kata, praying for the natives and restoring the world they once loved.
{{CharacterText

{{CharacterText
|Rhys has dug himself into a hole of scandal and shame. His romantic liasons brought shame on himself and his house, and his military career resulted in serious injury and the loss of his command. He's been drummed out of his noble house's line of succession, and has turned to experimental magics to overcome his injuries and find a path to glory.
|Rhys would not stand out in a crowd, were it not for his missing right arm and the bright blazing blue of his eyes, a trait the Silverhalls are known for. He stands to an average height, but is solidly built, a trained fighter from his youth who'd pursued a military officer's career. He dresses his station, despite his abnegation from his part in his family's line, but he does not dress with any sense of snobbery, just a sense of duty. His hair was jet-black as a youth, but has started to gray at the temples and through his close-shaven beard. He generally wears a cloak over his right shoulder, hiding the missing limb, and particularly what he's done to try and replace it.
|Rhys was born the second son of Lukas and Rhoslyn Silverhall, shortly following his twin brother Rholand out of the womb. Growing up with a real sense of being the "backup" gave Rhys a sense of insecurity, of being held back, and he bristled under that, wanting more than anything to be allowed to be who he was meant to be, not just his brother's alternate. There was constant bickering between the two, but Rhys never envied his brother's position as heir apparent; the role came with far more strings than even those laid upon Rhys himself. Rhys was constantly getting into trouble, and this was not something that improved as he aged. He threw himself into combat training from a young age, learning the sword but never taking it particularly seriously. He read voraciously, seeking escapes from what he viewed as his prison, both through fiction and through scholarly works.<br />

Shortly after reaching adulthood, Rhys fell into a torrid affair with Elliandra Baramont, the eldest daughter of the Silverhall's main rivals, families with generations of bad blood on both sides. Shortly after the marriage, Elliandra betrayed Rhys to her family, stealing information from the Silverhalls for their use, and this led to an incredibly public and venomous divorce and has only made things much worse between the families. All that said, there's never been anyone else, for Rhys. He hates Elliandra for what she did, but he can't move on.<br />

Rhys threw himself into a military career to escape the shame of his failures in love, and proceeded to lose his first command after a few tentative wins, pushing forward too boldly and getting cut off, and losing his own right arm during the melee aftermath as he tried to provide cover for his soldiers' retreat. This ended his military career, though his performance as an officer would likely have done so on its own.<br />

In the aftermath of his failed military career, Rhys isolated himself, furiously searching through tomes for something he could use to restore his arm. He was no use to his family in fathering heirs, due to his abnegation, and he had no finances with which to pursue business, though his family ensured his lifestyle needs were met. In that searching, Rhys found several highly-experimental books on magic, and took their hypotheses in a new direction, finding a way to actually build a housing for what was essentially the ghost or incarnated memory of his old arm. This is a secret he's kept to himself, but it has led him to some unique understandings regarding arcane theory that he has continued to develop, finding a challenge that truly excites him for the first time in his life.<br />

Rhys has two younger sisters, Branwyn and Ysabel, both married well and happy in their lives. His father, Lukas Silverhall, passed away from suicide shortly after Rhys and Rholand reached their majority, and Rholand has led the family well ever since. The two brothers still don't get along particularly well, but there's grudging respect between the two of them, even if they won't choose to socialize without good reason. Their mother, Rhoslyn, vanished just a few years ago, taken from the family home in what they assume was some kind of kidnapping scheme, but no trace has ever been found and no ransom ever demanded. Just the latest tragedy in a family that seems plagued by them.<br />

Rhys has been officially abnegated from the family line; he will never inherit, even should the rest of his family be killed. Even so, they have not disowned him; his sisters still love him dearly and his family home is always open to him. He is officially held at arm's length, however, and Rhys finds the circumstances discomforting enough he rarely returns home.

He'd lost his parents, as well as his younger sister.<br />

After thousands of years in known peace, the inhabitants of Edalon were bombarded by unknown races. A rift between Eberron and Edalon was opened, and races from the unknown world poured in. In search of refuge, many towns and cities opened their doors, some (Hentati and The Qorum) did not share the views of the others. They locked their doors and refused entry to anyone that was not of Edalon blood. It was not long, however, before races began to mingle and those of Original Edalon decent were no longer easy to tell from someone who was not. The rift the open rift created began to destroy the world of Edalon. On the night of the 5th moon, in the year of Corata, a great flood tormented the lands of Edalon. An entire island was washed under, the land bridge from Epios to Kodaven was crushed and torn apart. Much of the Northen parts of the world are now under water.

A decision had to be made, the rift had to be closed. As the area around the rift became dead, the city of Etlati abandoned, a group of adventures took on the task to close the rift. They went through the rift with a Nerite Battery, designed by the elder of La'Koda to close the rift. Sadly, they were lost in the rift when the battery engulfed it, leaving only ruins.

Since the closing of the rift, the world had been under turmoil. Brother fighting brother, neighbor against neighbor, all in the name of the great prophecy. That the descendants of the great adventurers will return and restore peace to the land. In the waiting, meteors have crashed through the sky and torn more of the world apart. One particular rock landed and melted much of the mountains on Epios, sending a great flood through the rivers and submerging Vinla under water.

Will the children of the adventurers come and restore peace to this once peaceful land?
List of Geographic Landmarks

Sometimes, the guild would call upon him to carry out missions. For years, he did as they wished, regardless of the mission. He was called to quietly assassinate civilians who questioned the guild, among other jobs. On one of these jobs, Karahmu was called upon to quietly influence a vocal opponent of the Conclave to become... less vocal. Unfortunately, the target refused and had to be neutralized. He'd lost his parents, as well as his younger sister.<br />
Mat'Selesnya is the parun, or original founder, of the Selesnya Conclave on Ravnica.

__TOC__

History
Creation
An elemental formed from the union of several dryads, Mat'Selesnya was encased within Vitu-Ghazi (the world tree of Ravnica) for several thousand years, until Szadek tried to destroy her during the decamillennial.

Description
Mat'Selesnya is described as a being with bark-like skin, with large crystals inserted into her arms and legs and encasing her dryad-like head. She currently lives deep within Vitu-Ghazi and speaks through Trostani, guildmaster of the Selesnya Conclave.

Decamillennial
The decamillennial was the ten-thousand year anniversary of the signing of the Guildpact. On the day of the decamillennial, the Selesnyan leaders, known as the Chorus of the Conclave, would perform the convocation. This was a ritual through which the entire plane would become blessed and have their sins forgiven. However, the vampire Szadek attacked the ceremony and, with the aid of his lupul (shapeshifter followers of Szadek) and Savra (matka, or high priestess, of the Golgari Devkarin elves), he almost destroyed the Guildpact. Agrus Kos, an officer of the League of Wojek in the Boros Legion, and others managed to arrest him, though this action in itself broke the Guildpact.

Description
Mat'Selesnya is described as a being with bark-like skin, with large crystals inserted into her arms and legs and encasing her dryad-like head. She currently lives deep within Vitu-Ghazi and speaks through Trostani, guildmaster of the Selesnya Conclave.
