The United of La'Koda

Geography

An isle that once connected to the vast continent of Epios by land bridge, now stands alone. Escarpments and pillars of rock can be found in the North and South, giving places of meditation to the residence of La'Koda. The isle is full of forest and small farming communities. The sandy beaches give way to lush grass as you move inland and the sacred Great Tree is found toward the center of the isle. The tree is the home of the ruling elder and their family. This is also the home of many that are seeking the elements or have been blessed with the gift of communion.

Government

The current ruler is The Elder La'Octa. She has ruled over Kodaven from before the opening of the portal. With the help of the elements she discovered the location of the rare mineral, Nerite. The knowledge that she possessed and that given to her from the elements made it possible for great adventurers to close the portal and restore balance to Edalon. When La'Octa steps down from her position, she will hand the role of elder off to the one chosen by the elements. At this time, the elements have made no claim as to who should be preparing for the role and La'Octa has made no decision to step down. While she is the leader of the Kadari, she ultimately speaks for the elements.

Law and Order

La'Koda is a peaceful nation. While there are times when law must be passed down, it is down swiftly and with clear communication. Most that visit the isle choose to not act out, out of fear of the elements that guard the great isle. Otherwise, laws are made by the people and those that reside on the isle. Judgment is only passed out when needed. Keeping the secret of doing wrong is difficult on the isle, as the elements are always watching, listening and talking.

Crime

The isle is a peaceful place, with an unusually low crime activity. That's not to say that crime does not happen, it's just that it's handle swiftly and usually without escalation.

Trade

La'Koda has two large trading ports, The East Dock and The West Dock. Teru is the large farming village that most of the trade comes through from the West Dock, while Marigau maintains it's high import rate from the goods in La'Koda.

Defenses

The village is guarded by the elements at all times, ensuring that those the are coming with ill intent do not make the trek across the seas to the isle.

History

La'Koda and the isle of Kodaven were founded by the Ancient La'Kata, the first Kadari. La'Kata is said to be a child of the first Gods and was sent to Edalon to assist the elements in their development. When it was time for her to be called home, she could not leave the elements alone. Out of love, she created the Kadari and set about giving them the Great Tree. They would spend their days communing with the elements. The Kadari had become so enthralled with their communications, that they lost site of the outside world. Because of their dedication, the elements began to bless their children with gifts.
