La'Kata (pronounced la-KAHT-ah), the goddess of the isle. Her passion for the animals and plants of Epios spurred her into isolation. Living amongst the trees and embracing the solitary life. It was during the The First Shift, as beings began to increase in their habitation of Edalon, that La'Kata came out of hiding. As she felt her connection to the elements increase, she felt the decrease in her ties to the mortal races. Often she walked the forest, watching as it disappeared and her heartfelt cry as she mourned it's loss was heard throughout Epios.
History
Mortal
Going to the Southern edge, La'Kata isolated herself once more in the forest. Her tears shed repeatedly for the loss of the forest and its creatures. The few beings that followed her, also felt the mutual love for nature and it's animals. It would not be long until the war was over and those that settled the land soon chased La'Kata and her followers from their hiding places.
During the time of the flood, when the land bridge that connected Kodaven to Epios disappeared, La'Kata and her followers were forced to flee their homes. Chased by those loyal to Henat, deep into the South, they crossed what was left of the land bridge into Kodaven. The Edalon began to respond to the intruders that chased La'Kata to the isles. Her blessing from Kenutat allowed her to commune with nature. This beautiful gift was bestowed upon her followers. Those that carried a true blessing from La'Kata also bore runes upon their bodies. This runes would arrive shortly after birth and were in La'Kata's native (and ancient) language.
Godhood
Her rise as a deity did not happen over night. It is believed that her time alone in communion with the land of Edalon brought her spirit before Kenutat. Not knowing her father and knowing little of her mother, the second born hungered to know the land her father built. It was the great desire to know him that spurred her to know Edalon, and grow to love it. She would be found defending the lands and it's inhabitants from those that would try to destroy the world. Her blessing is said to ride on the winds of the heroes that fight in battle and on the waves that bring their victor's home.
