Henat (pronounced Hen-AHT), the Lord of War, once viewed as the most beautiful among the Edalon Pantheon, now a disfigured mongrel. His vanity sent him into a crazed mental state, leading to him attempting to increase his beauty with scars. The self inflicted scars on his face increasing each time he has been seen by his followers. Many believed that the scars were what brought his power and they would in turn inflict the same scars upon their face. In blessing those that carried the scars proudly, power was given Henat to his followers.
History
Mortal
Before ascending to godhood, Henat was one of four siblings that dwelled on Edalon. His sister, La'Kata, and twin brothers, Vancira and Marig, dwelled among the lands of Epios. The world was young and the inhabitants were few. Their Mother sent them to Edalon to learn the ways of those that dwelled there. While the inhabitants were few, they took up their residence in the dense forests of Epios.
It was in the time of The First Shifting, that Henat became blessed with his gifts. He and his siblings began to defend their land from those that were coming over. Emotions ran high, as they watched those that they had come to love fall to the hand of the intruders. Henat's ferocity sent him running into a battle with blind rage. It was his passion that caused Kenutat to bless him. In that battle, Henat rose to godhood.
After The First Shifting, Henat took up residence in the Northen part of Epios. Isolating himself from his siblings, knowing the horrible deeds he had done. His face marred with scars from battle.
It would be centuries of dwelling in the North, among those that worshipped him, before Kenutat would call him home.
Godhood
Those that worshipped him, did so in times of need. As war would approach, the calls to him for help would rise higher. Offerings of gold and gems were brought to makeshift altars in the frozen North. He would ignore them, having no need for currency. It was not long until bloodshed offerings would get his attention. Those that mimicked his scars would be blessed with some of his power. Soon an entire civilization was created to honor Henat.
